Council Considers Banning Punch & Judy Shows

I heard today that a council in one of the UK holiday resorts is considering banning Punch & Judy shows. The reason, they are violent and could encourage young children to grow up thinking violence is OK which could lead to them abusing their partners in later life.

I'm not saying I like Punch & Judy in fact compared to Tom and Jerry its bobbins. Yes it's very boring and yes the scary ugly puppets are quite clearly made of wood. However, its still not good enough reason to ban what is essentially a harmless seaside show that's been successfully entertaining children for 330 years.
Surely anyone who thinks that Punch & Judy should be banned needs a smack over the head with a big stick.
