Iso 17025 Accredited Test Laboratories

Base on the experiences that we had and on checking with other parties from different regions, there seems to be a problem in this area and although it not seem critical, I thought it could be worth while talking about it.
ISO 17025 accredited laboratories are expected to provide independent and credible test reporting using ISO 17025 traceable international test methods or (in-house but accredited) for the food ind. whether for verification and validation purposes. And, where test methods are used that are not accredited, this should be highlighted in the report.
Most often, such accredited laboratories have the ISO 17025 Accreditation Mark on their "Report Letterhead" and this, to the unaware can be misleading. With emerging regulatory requirements on food safety issues, does anyone feel that more needs to be done to regulate "external laboratories" or the current approach is sufficient.
