Hi, all

I have enrolled (part time) at the local university for my Btech in Quality management. In South Africa Btech means a techno degree (sound weird). Anyhow it covers subjects like QMS management, Auditing, stats etc.

Now my question is since this a pretty new qualification here there are not much old examination papers to browse and work through. I find the only way to learn is to read the standard along with the prescribed text and then interpret it. Makes sense same as trying to implement it, I would like to assess the different angles that questions could be posed though.

Hopefully there are some student of other institutions on the forum that can shed some light??

Believe it or not Bennii I graduated in Quality Management back in 1996. Unfortunately I don’t have any examination papers. It may be possible I have retained some information in my cerebellum, but it could take some finding. Good luck and if you do have questions feel free to post them. You never know.

Simon
Thanks Simon, I sure will pick our brain when I need it. I am enjoying it so much, I have been exposed to implementation and maintenance of QMS for so long. A lot learned through trial and error and through consultants advice. Now that I am a consultant I found I spend so much of my time researching and doin self study, that when I discovered this, i jumped at the chance of getting it all concentrated.

This term we have been working on ISO 9001:2000 clauses, and I learn something new all the time. I wrote my mid term exam on Wednesday and it went well. Weirdest part though and off the topic, that since we never use the written word but type things instead, my fingers started pulling stiff after 30 minutes of constant writing.

Take care
Bennii
Hi Bennii

I don't know if it will help but I will try and send you a pm with an attachement detailing QMS Fundamentals and Vocubulary. Its an interprative document based around ISO 9001:2000, which incidentally is due to be updated to ISO 9001:2008 shortly (initial indications are that the new standard will be published in October 08).
