Hi Guys,
Attending a two-day technical course in Dublin and is considering taking the most out of the opportunuity to travel Northern Scotland.

I need some travels advice here on the mode of travel, accommodation, where to go and what to see. Making my flight stopover at Edinburgh and destination is Liverpool enroute ferry to Dublin.

Lots of advice please!

Cheers

Dear Charles,

Very historic destinations.
Regret hv never personally seen Scotland and perhaps you hv left already (?) but I am reliably informed that Edinburgh Castle should be worth a visit.
Do be prepared for the Cold (weather). I believe they were talking about snow on the weekend football games.
Not much help I’m afraid but bon voyage anyway.

The Royal Mile is a must, with the Castle one end and Holyrood house / the parliment building at the other.

There is plenty to do in Edinburgh, i spent a year working there in a cheese factory and loved every second! i learnt how to drink copious amounts of whisky (and which ones are good!)

If you have a car, and you don't mind a trip out, go to Stirling. Great Castle. The Wallace Monument (or the Mel Gibson statue!) and Bannockburn.

Mind you, Dublin is pretty good too.

one thing you must do at both places, which i know is a really tourist thing to to, is to do the old sightseeing bus.

enjoy, and wrap up warm.....it's bloody cold here!

Dear Charles C / Caz,

Thanks so much for the traveling tips. And Yes, I am still in Malaysia but is booked to leave on the 1st May.

I have decided to take a flight up from London to Edinburgh to spend two days there and then onward by coach to Inverness and go "rent-a-car" to travel to Isle of Skye and the other Northern regions which I hear is absolutely beautiful.

I look forward to having some great whiskies along the way. Any good brands!

Looks like I have managed to get my travel plans all sorted out right up Ireland where I will spend some time traveling around the "coastal ring roads" Thank a lot guys!

Regards
Charles
