Some of the most remarkable existing global brands of vegetarian meat are listed at http://www.futurefoo...fu/index_en.php, these products could be a tasty inspiration for the global players in the food-industry for new innovations, but with optimised price and marketing.

The global food-crisis, ecological factors, animal welfare and human health issues challenge us to find alternatives to animal products to be able to feed people in the future.

The page covers tvp, tofu, seitan, tempeh and quorn-products, but also products like “Meatless”, which can be used on its own or used to improve meat-products (health, price) and reduce the meat-content without losing texture, taste and mouthfeel of the product.

I want to extend the issue and add: New inspirations for dairy-free products. Some of the most remarkable existing global brands of non-dairy milk-drinks, yoghurt or cheese are listed at http://www.futurefoo...lk/index_en.php , these products could be a tasty inspiration for the global players in the food-industry for new innovations, but - same thing to overcome as mentioned above! - with optimised price and marketing.

Do you know of any activities of global players in the food-industry working on vegetarian meat? Any contacts for us at Nestle, Unilever, Mars/Masterfoods, Kraft, … ? Which strategy do you suggest to get the ideas and information through to the decision-makers?
