Entry Level Quality Management System

Having been involved in several projects recently, aimed around quality and supply chain we found that many companies, particularly smaller SME's experience difficulties demonstrating their quality.

Many are too small to have a dedicated quality management professional, and an equal number find that ISO 9001 is either too onerous, or in excess of their requirements.

To that end we recently launched a new product, QBase.

QBase is an entry level management system, based upon ISO 9001.

It focuses on 8 key areas:

Management of the quality system
Control of documents and records
Customer needs
Purchasing
Training and work instructions
Inspecting and control of substandard work
Continual improvement
Association, industry or other criteria

The standard allows organisations to start with an entry level quality management system, which can be enhanced to full ISO 9001 compliance at a later date, if required.

It operates on an inspection regime, rather than audits, but still provides observations and areas for improvement, to provide the continual improvement that organisations are seeking.

The system allows organisations to provide a level of confidence to customers and stakeholders in the quality of its goods and services, whilst assisting to achieve the cost savings that can come from an effective management system.

Additional information is available on the attached flyer.

Feel free to contact us for an informal discussion - contact details on the flyer.

Just what we need another standard. Like it or not the reason most businesses develop a QMS is to retain existing customers or to win new ones. The customer tells you which standard they accept. If we are talking QMS that would be ISO 9001 so why would one go for QMS lite? Who in the supply chain is calling for or backing this standard? If you want to manage your business along the lines of a QMS ISO 9001 has a loooooong track record, why not just use that and not get registered?

I don't see the point sorry robbie.

Simon
