Hi As Nur,

Main points :

- Handling
- Cleaning - wet or drey cleaning
- Traceability - managing FIFO and FEFO, checking ageing stocks
- Checking pest prevention/ evolution of old products
- Training of the handlers
- Inside+out of the buildings : potential issues and/ or areas able to attract rodents/ insects...

Regards,

Emmanuel
...concerning the Haccp study of a Wh, I think that the most important is to control these good practices - even though you must be under temperature control the point is that it belongs to GMP - or GWP,

Regards,
Emmanuel
I think glass control (lighting) and also fork lift trucks (oil and fumes). Just a couple to add.

Thanks penard and simon for the replay....
how about the perimeter (space between pallet to wall and pallet to pallet), how many meter minimum ? do you have any suggestion from the standard ?...

In My company we just put vent with screen to control humidity and temperature.. I have heard that warehouse dont need any vent, because that can be entry point for pest.. what do you think about this opinion?

Regarding separation, can try this thread -

thanks for the link charles....
Yes thanks Charles, you took me back to a long forgotten discussion. It makes one realise just how much information and discussion is archived here.

Wooden pallets to be replaced by plastic ones.
Daily review of the stocks for better stock rotation.
thanks jean for the replay

actually we stil use wooden palet.. but to avoid any contamination to product, we always control the pallets before we using it... we will not use any damage pallets ..
Dear As Nur,

Few years back when I used to visit warehouses (especially dry ones) where wooden pallets were used, I had noticed mould growth, cobwebs, nails projecting and a lot of dust and splinters falling off from the pallets and waiting to be replaced until it is completely of no use.

Correct stacking and stack heights are important and the pallets should not project beyond the stack. Excessive weight can damage the floor structures.
Hi As Nur,

BTW, what is the stack dimension being employed and what is the distance between the stacks? These are important to facilitate easy inspection, access and cleaning.

The surrounding area of the warehouse is important, incase if this is having a lot of plants, or weeds etc. In my previous company we had spotted a snake (a small cobra) in the warehouse. The warehouse had a lot of greenery around and so could have stepped in somehow from the outside.
Happpy new years to all of you...

sorry i late to response your post jean...

Agre with you, wodden pallet can be source for contamination not only phisical but micro 9 such mold , etc).. FYI.. i just using wooden pallet if the plastic ones is not enough.. so we always control the wooden pallet use.. and for stacking.. we called that perimeter.. we justify the distance between pallet to palet and pallet to wall minimum is 40 cm.. that give the inspectyion for cleaning and pest control easily....and.. yes.. i had seen small snack at outer of warehouse.. so. i put a little amount of sulfur surrounding the warehouse and plant to avoid the snack going inside the plant...
Dear As Nur,

Hope you had a great break from work. The bit about dusting / spraying S2 around the warehouse is new to me and at the same time would like to know if this is effective & acceptable for use against all kinds of pests (rodents, reptiles, feline etc..).
dear jean..

i just put S in landfield surrounding the building just for snake.. and.. until now we haven't see snake again... and for rodent we use bait station, at the outside we use toxic, and in the inside of building we use glue trap... and we add other pest monitoring , there are crawling insect bait station, pheromone trap (especially inside of warehouse) and flying insect catcher....
and i see that contro can work effectively...
Thanks for the info on Sulphur. Yes hopefully you can have a good pest control management in place with the various methods you have mentioned.
you welcome jean.. hope you can share more knowledge to me....
Could any one confirm to me that in HACCP we couldn't use Wooden pallet?
- In Warehouse.
- In Production.
- In packing?
Dear longtv,

Welcome to the forum !

The HACCP acceptability (or not) is based on risk assesment and validation/verification for the product / process / situation. There are good wooden / plastic pallets and bad ones but for many processes, including transport, the replacement of wood by plastic would also be financially unthinkable.

Dear Longtv,

Charles is absolutely right. What are your food products ?? Are the wooden pallets replaced or inspected frequently??
Including ventilation, just an addition

I remember I saw it somewhere else that the pallets should be 20cm away from the wall and floor to maintain a good ventilation, but can't remember where I found this.
I was read on AIB.. the space between pallets or between pallet and wall is 30 cm.. please correct me if i am wrong
