Record dumping method

Hi Friends,

Can anyone tell me the procedure of dumping the obsolete records for a food company? We have two options - burning the documents or shredding it. Burning the documents seems little bit risker to environmental safety. Related to shredding, does anyone know how to do it and any equipment available for shredding loads of paper at a time.

What's your opinion and comments on it?

we are destroying our old documents as follows

a) Incinerating in Boiler
b) all confidentail documents are shredded in a shredder machine and transfer to boiler

Inceneration is a very good idea. If you have internal incenerator like Biss do, it would be helpful. The ash can be processed by a waste management facility. I am sure you can find it easily in India.

If you dont have your own incenerator, then I suggest you go to that waste management facility, and dispose it there. Make sure it disposed with well and no one may misused it. Anyway, IMO Seeing is Believing principle is a must for disposal procedures.
