Although we have over 9,000 members here we only have 200+ members on our Linkedin Group.

If you do a search for 'Food Safety" on LinkedIn groups we appear at the top of page 3. Our goal is to get to page #1. In order to get there we need to get 500+ members.

Please help us in our quest...every member counts.

Progress report.

We now have 275 members and appear at the bottom of page 2.

It's a steep climb to the top of page 2, please give us a leg up.

Yeah!

That's good news.

I guess we have more members here than at LinkedIn because maybe there are not too many members here with an account at LinkedIn.

For those interested in setting up a professional profile for networking, finding new jobs or searching for on the job related discussions, you can take a look at the LinkedIn website.

From Wikipedia:

FeaturesThe purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people they know and trust in business. The people in the list are called Connections. Users can invite anyone (whether a site user or not) to become a connection.

This list of connections can then be used in a number of ways:

A contact network is built up consisting of their direct connections, the connections of each of their connections (termed second-degree connections) and also the connections of second-degree connections (termed third-degree connections). This can be used to gain an introduction to someone a person wishes to know through a mutual, trusted contact.
It can then be used to find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one's contact network.

IFSQN LinkedIn Group now has 400 members.

We are the 16th highest ranked group on LinkedIn for a search of "Food safety"

That means we are listed about half way up page 2. It's a long way to the top of page 2 so please - Join Our Group

Let's see what we can do.

We now have 775 members.
We have climbed up the leader board quite quickly in a short space of time, but still only at the top of page 2 for a group search on "food safety"

First goal is to be on page 1.

Yes Hongyun and 7th place is up for grabs, but then it’s a long, long way to 6th spot. I must say members are signing up faster there than here.

It’s a bit of a dilemma – I just about believe that it’s better to have a presence than not.

If any members feel inclined to join our Linkedin group please don't sign up for any others or we'll go nowhere fast.

It's been a while since I provided an updated.
As of today there are 3,016 members of the IFSQN LinkedIn Group. That ranks us 3rd for a group search on "food safety". Not bad at all, but number 1 is still our goal.

Wow!!! How time flies and things move on...four years later we have 26,400 members here and almost 12,000 members of our LinkedIn group.
