Ideas, Tools, Software for Creating a Specification Database
Started by Andrew Nartey, Apr 28 2011 05:02 PM
I am thinking of creating a specification database in access to manage customers and specifications they require. However i don't want to reinvent the wheel. Any ideas on creating database ? Any tools (software) out there for this ?
Ideas on training on the importance of completing pre-op each day before production begins?
Ideas on how to clean in a warehouse freezer?
Desperate for ideas to get employees on board with food safety culture
Looking for Ideas or a Structured Approach to Implementing a QMS from Scratch
Ideas to mark World Food Safety Day?

Andrew,
You could use iCiX to create, manage and publish your specs for your customers. There are templates already created and free for your customers to access online. Let me know if you want more details.

Matt

Have you looked at the following companies;
a) Intellapac Ltd USA http://www.intellapac.com
b) Hamilton Grant Ltd England http://www.hgfoodspecs.com
c) Siemens Ltd
I did an extensive search 4 years ago and shortlisted the above vendors in that order. Internal politics meant we went with HG in the UK, but first choice if we did this again would be Intellapac in the USA, as their system is all built and ready to load data and is very cost effective.
The Intellapac web site has some nice information to help you write your justification document. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Hope this helps
