ISO9001/ISO22000 Certification of process line before full production?

Hallo.

We are during this year going to close down 4 dairy production sites. These 4 sites are going to be replaced by one big production site. We are already producing powder for food and our customer requires from us a certificate (ISO9001/ISO22000) for that activity. The rest of the production site is not ready for ISO 22000 certification. We have not yet normal production, we only produce trial batches, so it is not possible to get a certifiate for the whole production site yet. My question is: How should we do to satisfy our customer requirements regarding some kind of Certificate/Approval for our new powder process line?

Best Regards
GittaS

Hi GittaS,
From your concern, it appears that if your current sites are already certified to ISO22000, you should revert to your CB for advice. Usually, the certificated organization would merely need to arrange for review audit. The CB would advise accordingly even though full production has not begun yet. In a way, my opinion points to a relocation of certificated site.
