In OHS and Food Safety hazard analysis is used to identify risk as an input into the risk assessment process. They use slightly different methodologies, but they have the same end goal, which is to minimise and manage risk in order to protect people.

That's my opinion.

Hi Agwanda,

I don't know if this will be an oversimplification but both OHS and Food Safety Hazard Analysis takes into consideration same set of inputs: method, man, machine, work environment however the divergence comes from the focus of the analysis or in other words the thinking hat used during analysis:
OHS focus is on the effect of the inputs on the health and safety of personnel doing the work.
Food Safety focus is on the effect of the inputs on the integrity of the food product being produced and how it will impact the health of the consumer (people eating the food product).

Just my opinion.

Assessment of risk considers follows the same approach in most fields, the only differences are the hazards and likelyhood of occurence in each instance.
