Quality Assurance test for Whatmann celulose nitrate micron filers

Dear all,

During a laboratory Accreditation audit NC was raised " Microbiology Laboratory I am working at present do not carry out any quality assurance test to ensure the effectiveness of Whatmann cellulose nitrate filers (0.45 mico meters ) we are using to analyse water using mebrane filtration technique ( no toxic effects on microorganisms, pore size etc) Can any one help me to clear this Non Conformity.

The auditor probably wanted to see that your company did a validation study to determine the effectiveness of these filters in "cleaning up" the water. All you would need to do is plate/coliform count before filtering and after filtering to determine effectiveness of filters.
