Hi Everyone,
Let me thank you in advance for anyone that is willing to reply. I am looking that the requirements for section 3.5.4 Management for outsourced processing. We crack and shell pecans. If we have another company conduct this processing for us in a time of need, what is required to conduct processing for us. I do understand there needs to be a contract and the site has to be GFSI certificated or audited by the company. But what has to happen for notification to customers? What is typical if this is undertaken if…
-A company cracks and shells pecans just like we do, but packs them under our own brand and ships them to one of our customers. Are we required to report that to the final end user which in this case is the customer? What does it mean by brand owner (I would imagine that would be us)? It does state that the brand owner must be notified.
-What if a company cracks and shells the product but we bring it back to our facility and we might repack it under our own brand or processes it further here at our facility does that require us to notify the final end user?
I guess one of the things that needs to get clarified who in this case is the brand owner.
Thanks in Advance.
