Differences between non-conformance and corrective action

Hi all,
What is the differences between non-conformance and corrective action? currently we only using non-conformance for all non-conformity issue internal and external. do we have to develop corrective action procedure for example for in-process if there is deviation?

Sorry but i don't understand yr question. Please clarify.
Generally, a nonconformance is some kind of defect/deviation with respect to a given requirement.
A corrective action is a response implemented to correct the occurrence of a nonconformance.
I'm sure you know the above already.

I wonder are you getting confused between corrective and preventative action?
Corrective action is carried out on the particular incident/event which has been detected. Preventative action is carried out to prevent this issue arising again.... both are initiated by non-conformance of a product or a process.

After also suffered with this after an audit finding and agreed to record all non-conformances(NCR's) as part of a NCR procedure and then split it as a NCR or CAR.
NCReports's are use to address the "less risky deviations" that can be easy correct and CAReports for "higher risk" deviations that need proper root cause analysis. Re-occurence of the same type NCR can still accumulate to a CAR.

A non conformance is when the product or process is out of specification.
Essentially it does not conform to the specification or expected standard.
You record what the NC is and then why it occurred, following the root cause analysis process.
The corrective actions are the actions, changes to process etc that are required to bring the product or process back into spec or back to standard.
They are to actions required to correct the fault.
Preventative actions are those required to stop it happening again.
