Hi there,

What microorganisms should be tested for with regards to air quality in a High Care Facility?

Total Counts/Yeast&Moulds? And what should the results be?

Regards

Tersia

Dear Tersia,

Standard, if any ?

Initially SQF oriented but can try this thread maybe (envir./comp.air discussed, eg see posts #17, #18)

and maybe this post -

There are a few other threads if you try searching.

(added) Most standards seem to focus on total "particle" counts / given volume. This Campden article attached may be of microbial interest. Gives some micro. levels but notes that results may depend on situation (eg similar to sampling food contact surfaces.)

Sterile (eg Pharmaceutical) applications also give implementation examples of validations for compressed gases, for example this SOP for air testing using APC count limits -
