Laminated Wood Cabinets in Food Production Area

Can Leminated ply wood cabinets, (which place at the corner of the area and not directly contacted with food) use for keeping stationary and related items in food production area??
We have done SWAB analysis too, and it was found OK. Can anyone comment or guide about this.??

It would probably be best to switch these out with metal or rubbermaid cabinets. Wood (Even laminated) can become chipped and broken easily and become a food contaminent. Wood can also be a good source for microbiological growth if not kept clean and it easily absorbs liquids in cracks and creaves if not taken care of. Not to mention most auditors frown apon having any type of wood (even tools) in the production areas with or without a risk assessment for said items.

I say yes, you can keep them. But be prepared to have them focused upon by every auditor who walks through your building and be ready to defend them constantly. If the lamination fades or chips, they're going to ask even more questions about cleanliness or contamination issues.

It would be easier in the long run if you swapped them out.

IMEX working on both sides of the fence (but not ISO 22000) your cabinet would simply be one of the easiest NCs of the day. Even more rapidly if a wet environment.
For most prescriptive food standards, there is probably no defence for wood except in certain grey areas like pallets but AFAIK this generosity does not extend to cabinets. Sorry.
