Which certification should we go for?
We are a paper mill specializing in grease resistant bag Kraft, butcher and steak papers as well as other food grade wrapping papers.
We wish to obtain food industry certification but do not know which one to implement.
Any recommendations between HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, PAS 223 as well as others?
Thank you very much, your help is appreciated!
Tamale
Hi Tamale, BRC Packaging is one of longest established (over 10 years old), but now we also have the new kids on the block with standards from IFS, SQF and FSSC for packaging. I would likely go for one of those four as when GFSI get around to benchmarking and approving packaging standards then no doubt they will be the first to be approved. So you will be backing a winner.
The fundamental question is what do your customers require. We always advise that you ask your top customers to see what standards they are certified to and what expectations they have of you.

Simon is right. Check out the needs of those who might have something to say about it e.g. customers. I have experience with BRC packaging and it is a good standard which can be certified. All things being equal it may not be a bad choice. I thibk the IFS have also introduced a packaging standard.
