Hi everyone,

I am working in an instant noodle processing plant.

We just completed renewal certification of ISO 22000. Now, another challenge ahead of us, which we need to be certified for FSSC by next year's first quarter.

I trust that this forum will be the very useful source of information to all those questions that we need to answer to achieve our goal.

Also I am looking forward for all the learnings and sharings.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum!

Hi Amanda,

For the conversion from ISO 22000 to FSSC 22000 in addition to maintaining your ISO 22000 certification you will need to comply with the following:

ISO Technical Specification ISO/TS 22002-1:2009, Prerequisite programmes on food safety - Part 1: Food manufacturing:

'ISO/TS 22002-1:2009 specifies detailed requirements to be specifically considered in relation to ISO 22000:2005, 7.2.3: a) construction and layout of buildings and associated utilities; b) layout of premises, including workspace and employee facilities; c) supplies of air, water, energy, and other utilities; d) supporting services, including waste and sewage disposal; e) suitability of equipment and its accessibility for cleaning, maintenance and preventive maintenance; f) management of purchased materials; g) measures for the prevention of cross-contamination; h) cleaning and sanitizing; i) pest control; j) personnel hygiene.
In addition, ISO/TS 22002-1:2009 adds other aspects which are considered relevant to manufacturing operations: 1) rework; 2) product recall procedures; 3) warehousing; 4) product information and consumer awareness; 5) food defence, biovigilance, and bioterrorism.'

FSSC 22000 Certification scheme for food safety systems in compliance with ISO 22000: 2005 and technical specifications for sector PRPs - PART I REQUIREMENTS FOR ORGANIZATIONS THAT REQUIRE CERTIFICATION

'This part of the scheme contains the requirements for organizations in the food chain to gain certification. They shall be used by the organization to assess, develop, implement and improve its food safety system and to apply for certification.'

Kind regards,

Tony

Hey Tony,

Our production facility is in Shah Alam, Selangor...  industrial area.

Kit.

I'm currently on Koh Samui, a ferry and a few hours drive from the northern border. Pretty hot here and fortunately not too much rain.
