Certified Sustainable Palm Oil Chat

I would like to open this chat about CSPO Policies that some manufacturers and companies are requiring now a days.

Generally, it's being required to comply with RSPO supply chain certification, as IP, SG or MB, leaving Book&Claim and Green Palm Oil out.

How do you handle this, in case you are in transition to certified Palm Oil sources?

Hi Quimica,

we (a fine bakery ware producer) have implemented a process for switching to certified palm oil. In a first stage we switched to MB plantwise, i.e. all products from this plant has from one date MB palm oil, which makes bilancing easy. In the second stage we have started 2013 in one plant with SG (same principle). In this case it is not as easy, because some derivatives are not available in SG quality. So our polices states to switch all baking fats (no all palm oil drivatives).

Our experience with stepwise implementation is til now good.

Dear Quimica,

I fear that yr OP contains, for most people, including myself, 5 unintelligible acronyms/terminologies in one sentence.

This must be a record.

An index is suggested for us lesser mortals.

Hi,

I agree that is challenging.

RSPO has this policy where it's said that up to 5% of the Palm Oil used in a product can be BC if it's proved that it's difficult to switch to MB, SG, IP... do you have this situation insite?

Do you think is easier go MB first  and then change to IP or SG? Why?

Thanks,

Quimica

Dear Quimica,

It is possible you have a rather narrow interpretation of the objectives of a/this forum.

May I direct you to read the home  page of this forum for a clearer understanding ?.

One priority is related to sharing. In the general sense.

Hence my suggestion.

This is what I am doing: sharing.

Politeness and respect  must be also  the main objectives on this forum, I believe...

Yes, but insufficiently. Hence my (repeated) suggestion.
