Hi! Forum members.

I need your help.

Last week our in- plant laboratory was audited by National Authority.

We were told that we don't have a procedure to determine the perfomance of a newly opened media before but into use.

also they needed us to have recovery procedure for newly opened for use media.

Our Lab do analyses pathogens associated with nile perch fish fillets  for human consuption.

please anyone who can help me with this.

Dear Munda,

Some typical methodologies with examples are given here -

Guidelines-Quality-of-Food-and-Water-Microbiological-Culture-Media--1.pdf   403.5KB   17 downloads

The details will depend on the particular media (eg consult Difco manual available on the IT)

Might add (for yr auditor) that various official bodies will also accept the evidence of testing / appropriate  documentation for certain received lots to be done by the supplier. This is discussed in another thread here (somewhere) related to ISO 17025 for micro.labs.
