Filters, Screens and Strainer Calibration

I'll only dealt with changeable filters that come with a certificate.

Can anybody provide with some information on the calibration of reusable filters, screens and strainers. How are strainers sized, I have a couple of strainers in the plant no one knows the size of.

The following link contains information about the size of the filters http://www.filters-s.../meshchart.html.

As for how calibrated, it is similar to any mesh, ie, must use a standard with calibration certificate. In this link will find a supplier of that standard: http://www.coleparme..._PDF/T_1885.pdf

Also, you should also use these standards for the monitoring activities

Dear SPl,

Some info. on, for example, what is written on the filters, might elicit more direct information.

Or perhps the previous post has answered yr query ? IMEX, the size is usually stamped on the product >> Reference Table depending on BS, US, etc

Or did you want something like this ? -

Charles,

Thanks for the information. The only strainer I have trouble identifying is the inline strainer basket with 100% certainty but using jel's links, I believe its a 1/4 diameter strainer.

Please see the following link for reference.  http://www.coleparme...ons/UX-29590-22.

The strainer socket, is 300 mesh and made out of cotton.

I would like to develop a fail or pass inspection procedure for these inline strainers.
