Training needs identification and competence review
I request you people to kindly let me know some easy methods which can be used for the training need identification and competence review of the staffs on food safety management system. Example format of records will be more helpful. Thanks in advance,

When I set up the documentation for training verification, I just make a spreadsheet of the tasks that are important for that particular job classification, then have cells to record who did the training, when, and to verify that the person being recorded is competent. That spreadsheet is for tracking the training of that individual. To have a comprehensive record, I have a spreadsheet with the names of all employees (different job classifications on different tabs) and all the tasks that they need to attain competency on as headings, and put the date that they achieved the competency into the appropriate cell.
I agree with MWildra. It doesn't have to be anything too extensive.
Training for FSMS ususally include your PRP's, things like:
Allergen
Sanitation
Personnel Practices / GMP
Pest Control
Shipping / Recieving (if applicable)
Record Management
HACCP
Food Security/Defense
Most big Food Safety company's have short videos that can be shown (for example you might want to look at

After they've watched the video - you can give them a short 10-20 question quiz to assess the competency/ understanding of the employees. Record Date of training, along with employees present and their scores, and you're good!

A hearty agreement on that thought.
And...for your occupational safety program as well. Annual refreshers are required for some topics, but it's best to go over everything. If people don't use a skill or information for a long time, it gets forgotten.
