Hmmm, my Friday song is different this week, I've listened to this one three times today -

I also find this one is great for unwinding...

Lynyrd Skynyrd, "Sweet Home Alabama", @ Knebworth 1977

As a partial Southerner, this is always a favorite. :)

Awesome music, all of them, in their own way.

I wake up to this music, it is very soothing.  https://www.youtube....h?v=tWnpJHkIupY

This also is a peaceful way to end the day.  https://www.youtube....h?v=4uOxOgm5jQ4

Beethoven's 7th is my favorite symphony.

Not all their music is this gentle, but this is by far my favorite of theirs (and very near and dear to my heart )

Gorgeous.

Many nice selections.

I wish there was a + for respect in musical tastes

Thinking ahead to warmer days, this group performs at a lot of the Rennesiance Festivals in the US.  They also have some albums.  They write their own songs, and are quite a unique act.  If you go to a Renn Fest, check out Sirena.

And, yes, the music posted here has been awesome.  MM, yes, we need that.

Both of the pieces you posted are elegant and classy.

Isn't it neat how diverse our tastes are, and yet we can enjoy them all?

Dear MWidra,

Thks. Indeed I found all the selections enjoyable in different ways. It is fascinating to see the range of music people enjoy.

Very Good Thread

What would we do without utube ?

PS - I was thinking of posting  some Aaron Copland / Rodeo as the lullaby but didn't want to hijack the thread too much.

PPS - @ Snookie, translation ?  It's lucky that, afai can remember, DrW refrained from karaoke.

Too late Charles--I did... :roflmao:

I LOVE Aaron Copland.  For those who are into real American folk music, he compiled a collection of authentic songs.

Yes, what would we do without YouTube?  From someone who remembers when there were no computers, no Internet, and when you spent so much time looking things up.

It's possible too many embeds might start to upset the thread bandwidth, etc. :dunno:  (seems to be a bit stuttery on my PC).

PS - added later - The Chief Engineer says No Problem.

Dang...thinking I would explore some other directions.  Klingon opera aside there are some wonderful pieces,in the more avant garde composers such as Arnold Schoenberg who has written some beautiful pieces beyond the ones that are  klingon like.  Many wonderful choices.

Ahhh a planet with music and chocolate..wonderful.

It appears that it auto embeds under certain circumstances.  At work, I can only post a link.  From home, when I paste a link, it embeds it.

This is a question for Simon, I'm sure.

Dear MWidra,

You're right (x2) however, IMEX so far, there are at least 2 alternatives to 1st part yr post -

A

(1) choose a title for clip and type it.

(2) highlight the title text

(3) click the "link" Icon in top menu > pop-up box

(4) copy/paste website url into the "url box" > click OK > (hyperlinked) title

clicking the underlined hyperlink  opens the website player.

This as per my previous posts, but not so pretty as embed of course.

Website player seemed much smoother than embed for me (no stuttering).(added later - more likely a receiver connection problem)

B (prettier and quick)

click the "you tube" logo bottom right-hand corner of the embed  > (with opening) to website player. Similar AV result to (A) for me.

As an old punk how about.
