Hi,

I saw the following -
"Int. GMP standard for Corrugated and Solid board
Background of the standard: The European Federation of Corrugated board, FEFCO, together with the European Federation of solid board, ESBO, developed a standard for the producers of Corrugated and Solid board. The members of these federations saw increasingly that their food customers wanted to have more transparency of the hygiene and Food Safety of their suppliers. The standard was introduced in 2003 and is a third party auditing standard"

Could you please direct me to more detailed info incl. the text ot this GMP for corrugated standard.

Regards,
Boncho Antonov

Take a look at http://www.fefco.org/index.php?id=187 and read all about this standard (€55).
Appropriate standard for this industry (I know because I happen to be auditor for this standard since 2004).

Hi Jan,

I know of this standard, but not the detail. I'm sure it's probably more specific and pragmatic for controlling risk in the corrugated and related processes, than say the requirements of the
BRC Global Standard - Food Packaging.

As you are an auditor for the standard can you give us some figures on the number of certificates issued so far, the countries involved and most importantly which of the major retailers are accepting FEFCO?

In my ignorant eyes a standard written by a trade body is likely to be more relevant but a standard jointly written by the customer is much more likely to be accepted.

Hi Simon,

No I cannot give details (I audit in the Netherlands/Flanders for one Certificatioon Body), but I am sure that FEFCO will give details on request.

Jan
What you can't give any details? I deduce it's not very popular then.
