I am being told that "There is an alternate HACCP decision tree that is of help to packaging manufacturers." Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Thank you in advance!

Thanks Charles, that's one that i have. I have looked everywhere i can think of and can not find anything different than what I have already.

Hi Brian,

I used the  HACCP packaging model, however it is not accepted as a recognised model  for BRC IOP.

I have got a new HACCP model supported by a process decision tree and a raw materials decision tree.

I am sending you all three.

Hope these help you.

Hi Gita,

Thks for the input. Very interesting.

I'm surprised BRC/IOP do not like the "haccp model packaging"  tree. The structure is taken direct from NACMCF.  The actual table is further expanded to be even nearer the beloved Codex. Do BRC also not like the tabular format? (I appreciate that the quality/legality factors are not of major interest in FSAP model and will require separate handling).

a few comments about attachments -

last tree looks pretty much identical to Codex (food).

Handling Raw Materials via CCPs sems a bit archaic nowadays (cf PRPs in previous attachment). But perhaps Packaging Business prefers traditional haccp (not my product area).

The overall format (including RM tree) looks to be based on Mortimore (food) + the upstart quality/legality factors and, in Principle, looks rather elegant.   I personally find the use of safety related trees rather questionable for quality criteria but seems well-entrenched. :(  (I preferred the format for BRC add-ons previously posted here, from memory, by Foodworker).

The YNY pathway in the template is illogical IMO. YN- should be a CCP if can not be a PRP.

Thanks again.
