Bulletin Boards & Notices

Hello,

Does anyone have ideas regarding how to have a bulletin board in our plant that does not use pins or staples to secure paper to it? I understand that tacks or staples can be a hazard but we aren't sure what else to use. Should we move the board altogether?

Thanks

This looks like it would work.  Made by Post-it.  Should be available many places.

I utilize a dry erase board. If it is a memo i tape it on there.

We have found that too many unauthorized things are posted by employees also, no matter how many times we would advise against it. These often obscure the necessary things until management takes them down. So we bought bulletin boards with plexiglass, locking doors. Works very well.

Hi saucy,

Indeed, my experience is similar.

The original bulletins are still there, yellowed by age and looking very lonely.

In my experience a locking plexiglass cover works well/is liked by auditors however they do sometimes look for a pin count of the number of safety pins on the board. A magnetic board also work but again a constant count of the magnets is needed.

Depending on the type of information you're posting, you may also consider a digital "bulletin board".

Another way to handle this would be to use an "Enclosed Bulletin Board" which is locked and monitored.  It not only controls the use of pushpins etc. but also eliminates unnecessary and outdated information being posted.  I've used them before and they are considered acceptable by BRC, but will cost more than the standard cork board.

Yes, an enclosed bulletin board works well.  Each department at my company has been assigned one and encouraged to post relevant FS/Operations/HR information.  It is secure, easily cleanable and stray staples/pins are segregated to this specific area.

I have used these in the past: http://mywhiteboards.com/tackless.html. The bar is mounted to the board and then the paper slides up in it .. no magnets or pushpins.

We have used the enclosed cases as well. The key thing is to remember to add them to your glass/brittle plastics log. We got caught on that when we first installed them.
