Xray Equipment for Large Rigid Plastic Pails

Hi Everyone,

We have a customer pressing us to install Xray machines on our Packaging Lines. We make rigid plastic pails and lids in a variety of sizes  from  4L -  30L in both HDPE and PP. Has anyone got experience of using Xray equipment for these type of containers. How sensitive are they? What will they detect, and what will they not be able to detect?

Any information is welcome.

Thanks

We looked at this last year. We produce plastic containers for the dairy industry. They are unable to detect plastic contaminants. That was our main concern, if a piece of plastic finds itself in a container. X-ray does not work for this because the contaminant would be of the same materiel as the molded product and would not create an imaging contrast.

For metal we have standard metal detectors.
