HARPC-Hazard Analysis and Risk based Preventive controls
Hi,
Can anyone provide some information on HARPC (hazard analysis and risk based preventive controls) and is there a food safety standard available for its implementation or certification?

Dear Syju28380 -
HARPC is US FDA's twist on HACCP under its new FSMA regulations. Just go to www.FDA.gov, type HARPC in the Search box, and all sorts of information options will pop up. You can also do an internet search on HARPC and find a lot of free and for-cost webinars popping up as FDA moves forward with implementation.

Hi KTD,
IMO, more like "twisted".
Politics Trumps Science ?
It will be interesting to see how HARPC works in practice. We all know that HACCP work fully as we get plenty of recalls from plants with HACCP in place.
It was a shame that we will have to spend a lot of time explaining the new language and definitions. Ultimately it should help us nail a lot of the GMP items that contribute to Food Safety incidents and recalls
Maybe this Canadian manual will help. It's currently mandatory food meat only, but other commodities can voluntarily comply and follow
Hi scampi,
Yr suggestion is undoubtedly worthwhile but the current difficulties seem quite wide-ranging, eg this sublink/surrounding thread -
