Good day Anton.

PM programs are most of the time based on your specific machinery.  How we design ours is, we look at each piece of machinery and based on history, manufacturers recommendations, & shared knowledge.  And just because we have 13 vats, they don't all get PM'd at the same rate because of factors like replacement vs original parts and aged.

My advice would be gather a small group of mechanically smart people, the item vendor and look at each pump, tank, heater, forklift etc and ask what could go wrong, should we wait till then or try to replace before it breaks, and can this equipment be out of order?

Not much exact information but a start

Hello:

What you do for Preventive Maintenance would depend on what equipment you have in your factory.  If you have something that mechanically extrudes the pasta, and if it were not adjusted and lubricated it would jam and contaminated the food, then checking and lubricating that equipment is important.  If you don't, then it is not.  If you have refrigeration equipment, then it should be serviced as well.  Anything that could harm the food if it does not function should be included in a preventive maintenance program

The best information on what Preventive Maintenance to perform and when to perform it would come from the manufacturers of your equipment.

We were both on the same page at the same time.  Coincidence?  I think not, lol.

Preventative Maintenance depend on machinery that one has in his/her plant. This is based on how long you are expected to Lubricate bearings, linkages etc, this can be classified as routine maintenance, and to increase machine reliability one has to implement Preventative Maintenance where each component of machines are studied and you deduce when they can be checked for wear and tear or changed completely. So all this becomes Preventive Maintenance as it tries to eliminate breakdown by scheduling maintenance time before failure of components like bearings and linkages.
