Dear members,

This is Mohan

             1.  Thanks for the supporting me, here i have a question. I am working in beverages and we are produceing water. And even we are making preforms also in our inhouse so i want one help from all of you, According to quality in pet resin which parameters have to check  carefully in their certificate of analysis and what is the best and suitable limits for us like( IV, AA Content, Heavy metals, Colour migration, Moisture Content etc).

2. And After making preforms Which quality parameters have to monitor and recrod. Either visually or Physically and how to maintain the stock also like ( minimum holding time and stagging, storage conditions).

3. After making pet bottles for the bottles which parameters we need to concentrate.

  Thank you very much

Hi,

All mentioned Resin parameters are important from various aspects I feel so. As far as the limit goes, since it somewhat depends on final product (bottle) specs, your process capability etc., it is hard to estimate at the resin.

If the Preform is for water packaging then AA is a critical parameter to focus from Resin through Preform through Bottle stage.

The general consideration for PET being hygroscopic, you should not store Preforms more than 3 months. Fresher the better in terms of Bottle performance. They deform with a lot of top load. The general consideration is to not store more than 2 Gaylord high.

Parameters to focus on after blowing the bottles (for Non-Carbonated applications) range from Odor, Color, Appearance, Base Clearance, Dimension and thickness checks across various part of the bottles. Brimful and Fill point capacity, Drop test etc.,

Hope this helps.

Regards,
