HELLO,

Do you have any guideline (from UE) which can help us using and understanding topic "sugestion of serving" on packaging and his relationship with QUID.

1) When I put a picture of orange on the packaging I should in the ingredients list put his % of content.

2) when I put picture of orange on the pacaging and write "sugestion of serving" I don't have to write his % of content

In both upper sample The orange is not using in the name of product.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Lucas

Hi Lucas,

An explanation from FSAI Quantitative Ingredient Declaration (QUID)

QUID applies when emphasised on the label in words, pictures or graphics.

Recommended serving sizes are normally declared in nutritional data tables.

Kind regards,

Tony

Thank you Tony for answer.

When I put picture of orange on the packaging and write "sugestion of serving" I don't have to write his % of content?  Because I wrote "sugestion of serving" and that is why I don't have to.

Do you agree with me?:)

Hi Lucas,

If you are referring to this 'In addition, a picture on the label given as a serving suggestion would not normally be regarded as giving special emphasis and hence not require a QUID.'

For example:

I would need to know more about your product. If you are suggesting that your product is served with orange then that in itself would not require a QUID, but if your product contains orange then it may require a QUID and your picture may be misleading.

Kind regards,

Tony
