Attaching traceability to milk deliveries

Morning all,

We're struggling with attaching traceability labels to milk deliveries at our premises. It all comes on cages of 80x2L bottles. We don't have time to attach stickers with batch codes to every lid of milk/cream and we tried attaching tags to the cages but eventually that ended up failing due to mixing and matching of deliveries from different suppliers. Does anyone know a way of making it all traceable back the different suppliers without the time-consuming method of attaching labels to individual bottles (we often get >1000 bottles per day through the door).

You can set up an entry log(excel spreadsheet) that will have all the receiving data of the farms or farmers the lab testing results and storage info can be added further in the process. A batch or lot # can be assigned for each entry and you will be able to track all the receivals that went into the storage tank/silo. Processing can then make a note on their records the tank/silo used. If a receipt is given to the farms & farmers log receipt book no. in the spreadsheet as well. Then just tape on the batch/lot # & Date that was assigned onto the containers the milk was received in.
