WQA Code of Practice - Weight, Volume and Count

Hi all,

I am after some help regarding this particular WQA COP.

The COP states that there must be a clear documented policy and procedure for the management of weight, volume and count for each product manufactured which conforms to the legal requirements of the country of  manufacture and the country of intended sale.

Could someone give me some assistance as to what sort of information they have put into there policy and procedure?

Our food manufacturing site conducts all the relevant weight checks as per the legal requirements, and there are procedures for this, so I am not sure what they need documented in the policy / procedure.

Thanks

Hi There,

I would say that if you are conforming to the local legislation (and this obviously is a requirement anyway) and you have clearly stated this in your SOP then you do not need to do anymore. We ourselves are now just reviewing the COP's and my mentality is not to introduce anything new than we have to especially if you have GFSI certification as you should be covered anyway. Having said that have you tried contacting WOW for further clarification?
