hello all,

We have a customer possible wanting to buy a gift box of snack treats from us. They were asking about the PDP and net wt.

They were not wanting anything on the front of the gift box...no PDP or Net wt. contents.

Is this allowed? I have seen a lot of holiday boxes and gift boxes that do not include the PDP or Net wt...

Does anyone have any information about this?

thanks in advance!! :)

The front of the box and the primary display may not be the same thing...

Where will people look to see what is inside the box?

If the front fully displays what is inside, the net weight should probably be in front.

If the front is just artwork, like a farm or a snowy field or something, and people have to look at the back of the box to see what's in it, that's were the net weight would go.

Most gift boxes I've got have been baskets or boxes with artwork on the front and all actual product labelling on the back or bottom.

I'm not a labeling expert, but I do know that there are regulations in the USA that require ingredient decks, allergen labeling, net weights as well as nutritional information.
AFIK, there is no requirement WHERE this information has to be on the package, just that it has to be there and in a specific format.

I suppose if it's not going on a retail shelf for the consumer, then there may be exemptions (none that I'm aware of however).

If this is not the case, it is a requirement that net weights be on the primary display per 21CFR.101.7
