Advise: internal auditing BRC vs. IFS

Hi all,
Please advise me: Our company is certified against BRC and IFS. Both require internal audits. However, most of the requirements/clauses are exactly the same. Is it enough to do the internal audits on BRC and one separate audit on all the IFS clauses that differ from BRC?
We got a minor non conformity last year that we need to separate the internal audits. However, I started three months ago and cannot find any evidence of internal audits of IFS, only on BRC and have not seen any comments in the external audit reports so far...
