Do uniforms have to contain name badges identifying the staff?

Due to a high number of staff turnover; I am having a name badge dilemma ( currently sewn to the uniforms)  !!!

Is there any requirement in the BRC/IOP and AIB standard that uniforms must contain name badges identifying the staff ? Please note from H&S and food safety we cannot allow badges fastened around the neck or anything pinned.

Hoping for a solution.

Aldeen.

Hi Aldeen

I haven't come across anything regarding name badges in BRC v7, is it your companies procedure to have name badges on uniforms?

in days gone by we used to put names on overalls but when you have 500+ staff of multi nationals it gets very time consuming especially with different spellings of names etc

Maybe just keep it for key members

wrighty

It may have been a customer request. I better discuss with my manager as I don't want to ok something and then I am wrong.

Thanks

Aldeen

Joking:  can't you just say "Hey, you!" to everybody?

Is there any final answer to this query, Can employees wear name badges ( metal or plastic), Thank you

Not as far as I'm aware.  Had BRC and AIB many years ago.

As far as badges go (metal or plastic) I'm guessing you mean pin on ones?  I'd not be keen.  They're a potential foreign body risk.  We do have ID badges on a lanyard but these are worn under the clothing.
