I have been asked to conduct internal audit as per ISO 9001 2015 in a sister company. It's my first one. I wish to know whats shall be my roles and responsibilities.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Rudra,

Nice to hear from you.

Are you a qualified auditor ? Are you familiar with the Standard ?

Hi Charles,

Thanks for your response. I have got training as lead auditor in ISO 22000. I am aware of a QMS and done a training of 6 months (purely academic) in 9001 :2015.

But it's very different from iso 22000.

My boss asked me to perform an internal audit against iso 9001 :2015 in a sister company.

I need to know how to proceed? Stage one and stage two...

Thanks and regards,

Shakti

Hi Rudra,

I'm not exactly sure what level of detail you are seeking but there is a ton of offerings if you google -

< auditor responsibilities stage 1, stage 2 for iso 9001 >

For example here is an overview -

http://isoupdate.com...stage-2-audits/

Having audited and witnessed audits to both standards, it seems the most common challenge for the auditor is to stay within the scope of the audit.  When you audit to 9001, any nonconformance you find under ISO 22000 is irrelevant insofar as the situation does not constitute a NC under 9001.

If the goal of this internal audit is to identify "stage 1" gaps, you should be able to simply take the text of the standard and produce a reasonably accurate gap audit.  No doubt there will be a few things that you will not quite know how to interpret.  That's where specific questions to this forum will help answer those few items.
