Good Lab Practices

Hi all,

I work for an almond processing facility and I'm supposed to be writing up a document for Good Lab Practices, however I am finding it extremely difficult to start. Everything that I have found online pertains to health labs or clinical research labs. Any advice or references would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Sara

One document I found very helpful is the Standard Methods for the Examination of Dairy Products. While you are nuts, not dairy, there is a nice section at the beginning that thoroughly goes over proper laboratory practices. The book is crazy expensive, and it is hard to find a pdf online, but maybe you could find a copy at your nearest university library? Good luck.

I will look into that, thank you so much!

Hi Sara,

Can you clarify a little what kind of "Practices" you are searching for.

For example, are you interested in setting up a chemical lab, a micro lab a physical lab ?

Or BCPA laboratory analytical procedures for almonds ?

or iso 17025 good laboratory practice requirements ?

JFI yr OP title generates 5 million + hits on google and numerous specific text books. But it always depends on what you are actually looking for ??.

PS - Welcome to the Forum !  :welcome:

We run both chemical and microbial tests, but primarily micro. I have familiarized myself quite a bit with ISO 17025 good laboratory practice requirements, but I think where I'm stuck the most would be formatting. I have a general sense of what to include in the document, I'm just unsure of how to go about formatting it.

Thank you for your help.

Hi skhan,

IMEX, most lab people look for a training course on getting qualified to the iso standard. Eases the pain.

There is also a Guideline manual for iso17025 posted on this Forum (somewhere). Maybe try searching for iso17025.

Ok. I can repost it from my archives -

Thank you, Charles! I will definitely read through that guidebook.
