I am trying to figure out if I need to have an SDS for each color if the paint is the same brand and style? For instance Sherwin Williams All Surface Enamel - do I need to have one for each color we have since they can tint paint?

Hi Belmont,

Yr query is fine but it may assist if you suggest as to what you would like the OP to elaborate on ?

Hi Charles, I am not quite clear what jfox is asking for, nor do I believe this question/topic relates to my business category....

Hey guys sorry if I wasnt clear. Let me just ask how you guys do it? Do you have paint in your facility? If so do you have the SDS for it? If so do you have an SDS for each color of paint even if it is the same "kind, style, and brand"?

Thanks in advance.

In the same vein what do you guys do for SDS for custom paint colors? The company will not have them listed on the website so do we just pick a random color?

Whats the paint used for jfox?  I guess not as a food ingredient, nor on food processing equipment or surfaces and probably very little chance of indirect contamination.

Regards,

Simon

We have paint on some canning equipment, beams, lifts, etc... Not a huge risk but in keeping up with SDS for auditors I wondered what everyone else does? If an auditor pulls a can of paint out of the cabinet and we dont have that color in our SDS will it be a big deal? Also again, I cant get a specific SDS from Sherwin Williams or Rustoleum for a custom color but they do have them for standard colors. Just makes me wonder.

Hi Jfox, If they are all the same manufacturer and same paint, just different colours, I'd probably have one SDS and attach a list of the paints it applies to.

Regards,

Simon
