Knife Accountability

Does anyone have a knife accountability program that is easily implemented and adhered to?

The current knife policy ahs been revised over and aver and seems to be more of a burden than a good policy.

Dear Clly,

You could do the following things to improve this situation:

  • Develop a new policy (keeping it as simple as possible) with a small test group of persons who work with knives on a daily basis
  • For the test group, select persons from different organisation layers, meaning also the responsible who will sign off the registration forms and who is responsible for the knives
  • Test until all errors are sorted out
  • Check whether it's conforming to your certification standards
  • If everything is OK, then you can implement the policy over the rest of the company

Yes, it's a huge task. I think you need time and a very good communication to make it successful.

Kind regards,
