Comparing "scores" from GFSI standards

Hi All,

my main standard experience (at least in recent years) is BRC global standard for food safety.  If one of the following standards are used, what is their scoring "system" and how does it compare with an AA or A grade BRC please?

CanadaGAP[6]] (Canadian Horticultural Council On-Farm Food Safety Program)

FSSC 22000[7] Food Products

Global Aquaculture Alliance Seafood - BAP Seafood Processing Standard

GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance Scheme Version 5, Product Safety Standard Version 4 and Harmonized Produce Safety Standard

Global Red Meat Standard (GRMS) 4th Edition 4.1

IFS[8] Food Version 6

PrimusGFS Standard (v.2.1 - December 2011)

SQF Safe Quality Food Code 7th Edition Level 2

Hi GMO,

That's a challenge we spent quite a lot of time considering. I see that you've included the farming as well as manufacturing standards. We selected just food manufacturing standards (no GAPs), but quickly found that there are more than you want to deal with.

BRC has grades (AA, A etc.)

IFS has Higher and Foundation, based on %

SQF has levels 1, 2 and 3, with level 3 graded Excellent, Good and Comply

FSSC has Registration (which is audited) and Compliance (which isn't)

PrimusGFS gives %

As to how to level them, we could argue our way into next year. Everyone believes that their standard is the best, but as a rule, I would suggest that BRC A or AA is equivalent to IFS Higher and SQF Level 3 Excellent. The rest you'll have to fight for!
