Emerging ingredient threats

Hi All,

 

I thought it would be a good idea to leverage our size and expertise to try and gather intelligence on developing threats to ingredients.  This could be a free resource to us all and, while it will never be comprehensive, it may give us the heads up for ingredients we may not be aware of have issues. 

 

If everyone agrees, what I thought is that we could write a summary and a link to any resources or news articles.  I'm working on TACCP today so if I see any, I will add the first post to this thread.

Here's one which passed me by.  It's from May this year and it was illegal (non sudan) dyes in chilli but sudan dyes in turmeric.

You may need to define  what you mean by threat ?

added - I suspect USP is generally regarded as the Food Fraud Britannica. but it's not free.

As in evidence of fraud or economic or availability factors which could result in fraud.
