Hygiene stations for the cleaning and disinfection of soles and hands
Hello to everyone!
I'm new to this and the food industry. My background was in the pharmaceutical industry in QA operations for 10 years. Despite the difference there is a lot in common. :)
The company I am working to is a dairy industry and it is working to be IFS certified for the first time this year.
At the moment we are looking into getting hygiene stations for the cleaning and disinfection of soles and hands for the main entrance. I have found apparently very good equipment from AWE a Polish manufacturer with passage boot sole washer and access stand by hand disinfection. However there is another similar option from LATIK an Italian manufacturer at half the price. In my opinion this option does not look as good as the first one. Is there anyone that knows these hygiene stations? Can you give me your opinion?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
Cristina
For hands, you simply need hands free sinks with hands free soap, paper towel and sanitizer (if using) it needn't be fancy or expensive, just hands free and capable of repeated and through cleaning.
Historically the biggest issue with the walk through boot sanitizing systems is that they are not included in the sanitation schedule and become the source of contamination
I would ask them for names of companies they have sold the equipment too and then go talk to those people-preferably other dairies.
There are several topics on the forum discussing boot washers as points of contamination rather than interventions. I would highly recommend draining foamers or a dry footbath station as an alternative, much cheaper as well.
