Milk Spillage Procedures

Hi All

We have a new customer with large quantities of sterilsed finished milk products. We have had a number of teething problems with movement around site in terms of stock fall/damages and spillages. We have introduced spill kits. However all of our drains lead out through a reed bed and into a canal. (toilets are capture through ses pit just in case anyone was wondering).

My questions is has anyone else had any dealings with Milk spillages and what quantities constitute as an environmental issue which would need to be reported to the EA?

Would I need to include these environmental issues within my HACCP study?

I also need to know if I will need to purchase a drain cover as one of our foot prints is over a run off drain.

Basically if anyone can help me with as much info as possible.

Many Thanks
