Hi all,

just a simple question for you :)

Here in Italy we produce an alcholic beverage very famous.. it's called "aperitivo" and it has 11% vol.

The Reg 110/2008 unfortunately doesn't speak about beverages under 15% vol.

What category is ok for this strange product?

If you scroll down to the EU, there's a whack of information available that should help

Hi il_robez,

What do you mean by "category"?

110/2008 won't apply as by definition your Aperitivo isn't a spirit, since it doesn't conform to the definition in Article 2(1)© of this regulation.

If you just mean the customary name for labelling then it may not necessarily specifically be defined in a regulation, but certainly Aperitivo should be acceptable as I know that it is in use on other products at 11% (i.e. as a distinct product from the Aperitivo Café de Alcoy that is covered by those regs and for which Spain has a protected origin status).

fist of all, thanks :)

it's a strange request by our client.. for me Aperitivo it's a alcoholic beverage and it is not defined in the 110/2008 like liqueurs, creams etc etc..

for the 1169/2011 I think we could call it Aperitivo or Alcoholic beverage..
