Acronyms Unknown.

Acronyms Unknown.

Sorry about that... Acronyms spell out

> mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons (MOSH) and of the mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH)

These come from contamination from non food-grade oil, ink, and/or grease residues in food stuffs.

A potential health hazard if ingested, regulations exist concerning the migration of MOSH into foodstuffs. Although not yet directly regulated, MOAH typically contains components that are known to be carcinogens.

Hi Artemis,

MOSH/MOAH is a huge topic in Germany since some years.

The contamination will occur in the whole supply chain and is very dependent on the product/raw material. We have developed a toolbox for preventing/reducing contamination, which is available in english since some time.

Pls have a look

Hello Moskito,

Your MOSH toolbox is great source of information and great tool. Have you ever heard or seen MOSH/MOAH/POSH in coconut flour?

Also, have you ever seen a consistent MOSH/MOAH presence in certain food ingredients due to inherent presence?
