Online HACCP training to become SQF Practitioner

Greetings,

We have started on our path to SQF certification and are looking into online HACCP training courses that meet the SQF standard for our practitioner. My online searches have yielded many courses priced from $125-$400+ and so far these two are the top contenders:

360 Training ($125)

Is there any reason why either of these would not be acceptable? Any recommendations?

We are a wholesale gluten free bakery located in California.

I like the NEHA one - but for bakery I really like the one offered by American Institute of Baking - AIB.

I am not familiar with NEHA but I took the AIB one and the content was ok, one bonus is that you are then registered with AIB and receive many updates and  access to bakery specific information.

I took the 360 training one, it was pretty informative.

is online HACCP certification acceptable?

You may want to check that the International HACCP alliance approves of the course (gold seal on the certificate you receive after you complete) but yes online is acceptable.

Strange that the "360" webpage is Titled "365".

No direct experience but the referenced "subject matter expert" is somewhat of a Legend.

IIRC the NSF / Siliker haccp courses have also often been mentioned here. Maybe not on-line though.  (No personal connection).

I guess it depends on what is compatible to SQF ?

I took the HACCP training online through Alchemy Academy and it is a HACCP Alliance accredited course. Pretty detailed but easy to follow.

My boss decided to go with NEHA and I have been working through the course at my convenience. It is troubling that a lot of the links to reference material lead to pages that no longer exist or to articles that were written years ago. Because of this, I have serious doubts about the timeliness of the information. One of the pages that came up with a 404 error listed the last update to the page as 2017. I used the feedback feature to express this concern and received no response from NEHA. This indicates to me that the course is not being updated or even reviewed regularly to ensure that it is complete and that all of the links work. And because there has been no response to my feedback I get the impression that NEHA is not concerned with the quality of the course and does not care about user satisfaction.

I would advise anybody looking for quality HACCP training to stay away from NEHA.

Not offered by SQF themselves ?

PS - just noticed the "on-line" :doh: so i presume sqf already offer a "non-on-line". Even more lucrative I suppose.

Well, Costco only accepts "classroom HACCP training". Probably best if you have little or no knowledge.
