Good evening.
I'd like to make some points on this.
The two main differences between BRC and IFS I figured our are, that BRC is more focused on HACCP (nevertheless IFS is also requesting a whole HACCP System) and IFS is clearly asking for all management items like ISO 9001:2000 is doing.
Additional to this, IFS with the new Version 4 is now also requesting laboratories with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

Peter,
I can find no reference to this in Version 4?
The nearest I can find is "5.7.7 Where the Organisation subcontracts analyses critical to product safety, legality and quality as determined in specifications, a competent accreditation body shall independently accredit the third-party laboratory."
Yorkshire
This is, what i was refering to. It means that the laboratories must have ISO 17025. If not, you must show, that they are on the way.
Hi Saferpakers,
I recently came across this document issued by CIES
GFSI report BRC vs. IFS

Thanks Franco,
Very interesting indeed.
Very interesting indeed.
Thanks Franco,
You're welcome Yorky.
Leaving the plant now, have a nice week end.
In my opinon, you only compared the IFS v4 vs BRC Food v3.
But as a matter of fact, IFS v4 and BRC Food v4 should be compared. They are no much difference!
-the soring system is different!
-BRC v4 has a new grading system and IFS v4 FL/HL(/Rec, not on certificate) levels!
-BRC v4 has no level difference now
-BRC v4 is a "close" evaluation and IFS v4 is a half close or even open evaluation
-BRC v4 mentioned many many risk assessments, while IFS not
-of course, the structure of BRC and IFS is different!
