Painting Block walls in food processing
Hello,
One of our food processing rooms is older and made of concrete block which is painted. We are looking to give it a refresh since some of the paint is wearing (it's probably been about 5 years since the last painting). We also wash down the equipment in this room. I was looking into different paints to use, all of which include waterproofing as well as mold and mildew resistant. I found one that says it is Food & Beverage Enamel and the other is just mold and mildew resistant. I was wondering if anyone can share a brand / type of paint they have used in the past that works well.

You have to be sure that the new paint is compatible with the old paint, lest it flake off. I doubt enamel will work on whatever paint is already on the blocks. Realistically, walls are not going to be a serious concern for microbial growth, and if they are, special paint won't affect the outcome.
Call Sherwin Williams, I had a huge project a few years ago, when you call and talk to a commercial agent they beat everyone's pricing and they know they're products. The rep will come out to your facility and look at the project then give you the choices of paint he feels will work the best for you. Worse case, you don't buy anything and are out no money.
